Mini moo at Pendragon

22nd January 2020

This year Pendragon Primary school is taking part in the Cows about Cambridge public art event which will be in the city from 30th March until 6th June 2020. The large cows are sponsored by businesses and designed by artists, to make a free art trail for families to follow. The event will raise money for Break, who provide homes for children across East Anglia; a centre for families in crisis and services for children with disabilities and their families.

Local schools and groups can elect to have their own miniature version of the cows to decorate and include in the trail. So with great excitement the children at Pendragon got to meet our blank mini-moo on the first day back this term, when it was revealed in assembly. Each class then got busy thinking about how to transform our mini-moo with their designs and get it ready to be part of the trail. Whilst we are keeping our final design secret until it is revealed in the exhibition, themes linked to our school and Papworth village were really popular suggestions from the children. We are currently holding a competition to name the cow.

We are very grateful to the sponsors that have made this possible, but would still love to hear from you if you would like to part of this project as there are still a couple of legs to pay for. We look forward to giving you updates before the big reveal and hope that you will want to go and spot Pendragon’s mini-moo when it is part of Cows about Cambridge later this year.
